Trump Returns to Campaign and Warns Biden to «Brace Yourself»

Donald Trump plans to get back to work immediately on Friday, a day after becoming the first former president convicted of felonies, warning President Biden to «brace yourself» now that he can focus on the election campaign.

The 77-year-old former president is scheduled to speak at 11 am on Friday at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan, where he is expected to again denounce what he called a “rigged and shameful trial” that ended Thursday with his conviction on 34 felony counts related to hush money payments.

His campaign also had a warning for his 2024 rival.

«The corrupt Joe Biden and the Democrats confined President Trump to a courtroom for more than eight hours a day for over six weeks, and he is still winning,» said Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt in a statement to Fox News.

“Now that he is fully back on the campaign trail, Biden and the Democrats better brace themselves,” she added. The presumptive Republican presidential candidate still managed to generate “billions of dollars” in media coverage during the high-profile trial, as well as hold rallies and campaign stops, and “increased his lead over corrupt Joe Biden in the polls.”

“Not even a witch hunt trial could stop him. In fact, it only made him stronger,” said Leavitt.

This comes after Trump, looking bitter, criticized the trial as “rigged” and “shameful” after the Manhattan jury found him guilty on all 34 counts on Thursday.

“The real verdict will be on November 5 by the people… I am a very innocent man,” he said upon leaving the courtroom, blaming the ordeal on Biden, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and the judge who presided over the trial.

“I am fighting for our country, I am fighting for our Constitution,” Trump said. “We are a nation in decline.”

Trump also accused Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan of being “conflicted” and “corrupt,” claiming that his decision not to grant Trump’s request to change the venue from Manhattan (a district overwhelmingly favoring Biden according to polls) led directly to the guilty verdict.

“Our entire country is being manipulated right now. This was done by the Biden administration to hurt or harm a political opponent. And I think it’s just a disgrace,” Trump said.

His remarks came shortly after he launched a fundraising memo on his Truth Social page, calling himself a “political prisoner.”

Trump’s fundraising website crashed, and one of his campaign committees reportedly received an $800,000 donation following the guilty verdict.

“So many Americans were motivated to donate to President Trump’s campaign that the WinRed pages crashed,” the Trump campaign wrote on X.

Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 hush money payment made by his former lawyer “fixer” Michael Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels just before the 2016 presidential election.

His sentencing is scheduled for July 11, just four days before the start of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
